Thanksgiving
My mother was given 3 months to live 6 years ago. Since then I have gone with her and my father on their journey through time with a much greater sence of the preciousness of each moment and way more respect for miracles. Every night I pray and honestly ask for nothing other than the continued good health of my family, friends, and animals. More then that I thank God for all the miracles- those we see and those we do not see. Especially the miracle of my good health and that of all my loved ones. And for anyone out there who doesn’t believe in miracles, just have a chat with my Mom!

Dearest Robert,
This miracle of my life could not have happened if you were not at my side. There we were in the Doctors office when he said,”I am sorry your chemotherapy did not work. You have 3 to 6 months to live” You said how about Iressa? He said, “It is very expensive and will never work.” You said you are talking about my Mother. So out we went and off we flew to Huston to see DR Glisson who had been on the study. She looked me over and said I was the perfect candidate. I had never smoked nor did I have any symptoms. So thank you Dear Son for saving my life.
Love Mom

You truly are the “Gold Jean”. Lots of love to one of the most special ladies I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing.
I remember back in the early 80’s when you and Herb came to a show in Sarasota, FL.
You told me you were keeping albums of both Robert’s and my doings. I laughed and said that Robert’s had to be at least 3 inches think while I’m sure mine was abut a centimeter thick…but I’ll never forget how you “adopted” me.
Lots of love!!
Jane

Dear Jane,
Thanks so much for the lovely praise to a Mom who thought of you as another Daughter and was trying to do my Mom Job! You know how nervous I always was when Robert rode. You gave me assurance and helped keep me calm.
It has always been a privilege to be Robert’s Mom. He gives his Dad and Me Tender Loving Care. We are so lucky to have him around so much of the time.
I enjoyed reading about your successful life as a rider, coach and author.
May 2009 be kind to you and yours,
Lovingly,
Robert’s Mom
