   I have a friend who’s sung on the Today show a few times. It’s a notoriously tough venue for singers because the sound system often has problems and the singers can’t hear themselves. Something about the sound monitors not working well. And when you’re singing into a mike, the sound feels as though it’s sucked right out of you–you can’t hear yourself at all. That makes it almost impossible to adjust your pitch.

   Beyonce was on Letterman the other night, singing live. She was fantastic! On Letterman, Paul Schafer makes sure the artists have a wonderful experience. The sound is incredible and Paul works with the artists during the day to make sure they’re totally happy with the sound, the mix, etc..

   I think it had to be someone in the sound booth who didn’t like that she was lip syncing and messed with her tracks to embarrass her.
   She has one of my favorite voices around today and even the worst sound system and monitors couldn’t make her sing like that!
   Let’s see if anyone out there can really get us DoversWorld readers the absolute inside scoop. I’ll give a prize to anyone who can verify what happened. Ok?
