I totally agree! I just got back from seeing it and I was really surprised at how much I loved it. I'm not much of a trekkie, but the story was good and the actors were wonderful. I particularly loved Zachary Quinto as Spock. He seemed so much more smoldering than the young Leonard Nimoy, and I loved that his Spock's embrace of logic was a conscious choice rather than simply his nature.
