Have I mentioned that I LOVE STAR TREK?
I have watched, ad nauseum, every Star Trek TV show and have seen all the movies multiple times. But, I have to say, the latest movie, which just came out last week, is absolutely the best. I loved everything about it!
The cast was perfectly picked to resemble that of the TV show, down to their most minute mannerisms. And I also loved that Leonard Nemoy was back as the older Spock which was just the right amount to give us older Trekkies the final nod of approval.
The biggest thing going for the movie is that it doesn’t matter if you ever have seen or even heard of Star Trek before to fall in love with it now. And that is a sign of just how great the writing, producing, directing, and acting was.
Star Trek will always be one of America’s favorite shows, and with this movie we have been sucked right back into wanting more, more, more!

OK, so it’s time to find out who is going to be in the finale of American Idol, and I can hardly wait!
I secretly( or not so secretly) wish Allison was still in there. I love her! She’s sort of a Janis Joplin meets Melissa Ethridge meets Pink, and she’s going to be a huge star!
But, it’s up to the boys and my bet is on Adam and Chris to make it into the finals.
I think Danny has a nice voice but neither the wild range, rock star personality of Adam, or the HOT looks and “Nick Lachey” type voice of Chris.
We’ll all be finding out in a few moments.
Let me know what you think of the results and your pick for the winner of the whole thing.
Cheers!

Steffen Peters, following his historic World Cup win on April 18th in Las Vegas, has been named USOC Athlete of the Month! That is a huge honor as he received the title ahead of many, many amazing athletes from just about each discipline in the Olympic family. And, Steffen is the first equestrian ever to receive the title!
So all I have to say is HOORAY FOR STEFFEN! We’re all so proud of you him and can’t wait to see him at the WEG in Kentucky next year!
Cheers!

My Schnoodle, Simon, turned one year old April 4th. He’s truly been the sweetest, most gentle and loving dog I’ve ever known. And, naturally, he has totally won over my heart as well as Robert’s, my family’s, and pretty much everyone else’s who’s gotten to know him.
But last week he had a tiny bump on his neck, just behind his left ear, so off we went to visit Dr. Ringler who, if you’ve been a good reader and have kept track of my blogs, you will know is the best vet in the world. He took a look at him and thought it was a minor infection and gave me a spray to apply twice a day and antibiotic pills to give him once a day.
As the days went by though, I could tell that Simon’s neck was hurting by his expression. When you’ve been dealing with horses for as many years as I, you get to be very sensitive to what your animals are telling you in their own way. So back we marched to the vet. This time, Dr. Ringler thought we should test for fungus so we took a little sample and sent it off.
A few days later that test came back negative so we decided to wait and hope it would clear up in a day or two. But Simon’s neck just seemed to get worse and the spot on his neck, though not an open sore, seemed to be growing under the top layer of skin, now covering about the size of a quarter.
For the 3rd time we got in the car and went to see Dr. Ringler. This time he said we needed to shave the area to see exactly what was under there. A few minutes later we were both looking at an ugly lesion with a bunch of new tiny eruptions ready to open up, and the thing was obviously spreading. So, the doctor decided to take 2 biopsies, one at the edge of the main sore spot and the other of one of the tiny new sites. Now I’m a nervous father waiting until Friday when we get back the results. Dr. Ringler, with whom I’ve shared the lives of my beloved late pets, Half-Halt and Pirouette, reacted to my concern with is usual great bed-side manner and humor, reminding me that I couldn’t just have a dog with an easy to diagnose problem. After all, he had kept both my last 2 dogs alive until each was 18 years old, even through replaced hips and pace-makers.
The worst thing beside the wait is that poor Simon, because of his stitches, has to wear a neck cone, which he hated. Of course, Robert reminded me that there are new, more comfortable, blow-up ones, sort of like the neck pillows you can buy to use on a plane. He’s a lot happier with this one and being more patient than I as we wait for the verdict!
I’ll keep Simon’s fans informed with the outcome of the test.
Cheers!

Yesterday I had to go to the drug store to pick up my prescription. I felt like a car was following me into the parking lot but thought it my imagination as he followed me around to where I parked rather far down from the door. As I stepped out of the Lexus Robert leases for me a very nice looking young well dressed African-American man approached me with tears in his eyes. He said, “ Please Mam , I have a baby in the hospital and I am short $27.80 to buy her a respirator so we can take her home. I have the papers here to prove it but no way to earn it. Will you help me? “
I reached into my purse and removed 3 $10.00 bills and handed them to him, wishing him the best of luck. He blessed me and walked away. I was happy I had done something nice for another human being.
This morning I started to replay what had happened. He could have said hand over your wallet, or taken my car key, or hit me over the head, but none of those things happened. Why didn’t I say I have no cash and asked him to step into the store with me so I could get some to give him. The fact is I just didn’t?
So what do you think? Am I a Savior or sucker?
Roberts Mom
I pride myself in trying to be a good person, doing the right thing, and helping others whenever I can. Recently, it has been more and more difficult to remain silent, not because of transgressions against me (though there were), but because my friends and loved ones have been hurt. You can do what you want to me but my friends and family? I don’t think so!
Here’s is what I have to say:
” Ron Davis is my and my partner, Robert Ross’s, best friend. He is also the most honest and trustworthy person I know in the world! Additionally, Ron is a multi-talented artist who produces and directs films and documentaries which you can read about on my site by going to the links and clicking on his name.
There has been some controversy over his latest film he is presently in pre-production with, Riches To Rags. I want to categorically state, for the record, that every word of what Ron says, writes, and shows, whether in his movie or on his website, is the absolute truth.
And, no pun intended, YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK!
Oh, I almost forgot. If you are still not certain, you can always look at the public records in West Palm Beach, Florida, for new judgments against the subject of Ron’s documentary. I should know because I won one of them. :)
Cheers!

Horse show mom–Nancy Fouche Hanson We attended horse shows together from 1977 at the Ft. Benning Hunt Club to the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and our last Mother’s Day weekend together was spent out on cross country watching the Midland Horse Trials. Hi Rhonda!
Exactly a year ago today, my boyfriend of three years cheated on
me (with an unattractive woman, for the record). I now have some
issues with intimacy, but I find that he doesn’t initiate because he
is afraid of my reactions. The thing is, its only really arousing to me
when he takes the lead and starts everything. I’ve come out and just “said
something” to him about it, but it doesn’t seem to work. He complains
that we don’t have sex enough, but his initiation is the issue, and a
frank conversation didn’t seem to work. Any other tips for either
helping me be okay with starting things off, or another way to get
through to him?
Thanks
Notin Thesac
Dear Notin,
You’re complaining that you don’t have enough sex; he’s complaining
that you don’t have enough sex; you told him that you want more sex
and even told him how to get it from you, yet he goes to some ugly
girl to get it? Not for nothing, but somethin aint right with this
story (and yes I said “aint”! A story this tragic deserves similar
English).
When you say he is afraid of your reaction when he initiates sex, I
must confess that I am actually afraid to even think of what that
means? What could you possibly do that is so frightening (or
disgusting) that makes sex with you revolting? Is it gas? Muscle
spasms? Twitching? Do you throw punches or do you kick uncontrollably
when you are nude and arroused? Do you suffer from sexual turrets?
I hate to say it, but this is more than just a sexual initiation
problem. While ugly girls are notoriously more aggressive sexually
(not a scientific fact, just based on Rhonda’s life experience), he
still had to “initiate” to let her know that he was available and open
to the possibility of sex. So initiation is not his problem…You are.
What I find interesting is that he doesn’t want to have sex with
you, yet he continues to stay with you. So on a positive note, all the
signs point to the fact that he loves you (or you have money). My
suggestion would be to find out what it is that you do in bed to
completely and utterly turn him off and KNOCK IT OFF immediately.
Whatever your issue is, including the ones I mentioned above, it can
be researched and cured with a good Google search. Good luck.
Best,
Rhonda=
