In Search Of Miracles

I am a true believer in miracles. I have witnessed so many I can no longer count them. Is that hard to believe?

Well, let me tell you that if you do not believe me, it may be that you and I don’t agree with the definition of a miracle. You see, I look at a beautiful sunrise or sunset, at a leaf on a tree, at ants on the 18th floor on a building, or at my Mom who was given 3 months to live almost 7 years ago and see in all of them a MIRACLE!

Naturally, my Mom is a grander miracle in my eyes than finding my keys after mis-placing them for a week, but it just goes to show you that little and big miracles are happening constantly, whether we observe them or not and whether we consider them as such or not as well.

And the power of our minds, both individually and collectively can, in my opinion, open the universe to give us what we desire, but also many times what we do not desire but rather actually need, even when it might be the opposite of what we wished for and even cause us pain.  So I have learned to ask for miracles I wish for, but also to ask for the miracle of understanding things or events which occur that seem counter to that which I desire. In these cases all  I can truly hope for is wisdom to comfort me.

I honestly want everyone to be healthy and happy, though I understand that this is just not possible for any of us indefinitely. Such is the circle of life. But that does not stop me for asking for miracles for my friends and loved ones who I wish continued good health or a speeedy and full recovery.

Therefore, I ask that you join me in praying to whatever higher power or greater consciousness you wish, for the following people:
Jean, Gene, and Ingred.

Thank you!

    My Dearest Son,
Every day is indeed a gift from God. All of us want to go to heaven, but none of us wants to go today!
Every day that we open our eyes, and delight in its promise, is a MIRACLE. We must say, Today is the first day of the rest of my life, and I will not waste it. I will try to share my joy, and see what I can do to make today better for someone I love,a member of the family,a neighbor,or friend. Maybe a stranger I will come in contact with. It doesn’t matter. It may be a little thing to you, but to them it can be a MIRACLE.
I have had so many MIRACLES, among them having 4 fabulous, loving, children, their wonderful spouses, two lovely Granddaughters, and one super step Grandson. Keeper all ! Oh dear, I can’t leave out our Grand dogs, Al & Lynne’s Sophie, yours & Robert’s Simon, Margo & DR. Bob’s Pia, and Dale’s 5 to 7 dogs, depending on how many she has rescued each week.
When I first was diaganosed with cancer, and givien 3 to 6 months,I asked God to please make me a MIRACLE, as Herb was diagnosed at the same time with early Alzheimer’s. I wanted to be here as long as possible so I could be his caregiver. Somehow you, my beloved Son, found me Iressa. I became AstraZeneca’s poster girl. They kindly gave me this very expensive medication free, in exchange for pictures of me holding the bottle, and so forth. After 5 years, a year longer then for most people, Iressa no longer worked, but God granted me another MIRACLE. It was decided I should give Alimta a try, even though it usually only allowed most people an extra 2 months. I had 11 Alimta infusions, and was declared in remission for the next 11 months.
I am amost ashamed to ask God for another MIRACLE, but human nature being what it is, I have asked. I feel my experience will help others not to give up hope. There are so many new medications coming out. AS you have taught me,one has be be their own advocate, and explore all options.
On Tuesday of next week you are taking me to seek another opinion. Maybe we will find the MIRACLE I long for.
So please, Friends of Roberts Mom, add me to your prayer list.
    I love you Robert,
    Mom
