Mom’s Corner - Trivial Pursuit ( Mom’s Edition!)
OK Friends, here is how it works. I will post 6 questions. Those who want to play along will post their answers in the comment box. The person who gets the most right answers, no cheating please, will receive a shirt from Robert. If there are multiple winners they will win a shirt too. If there are more then 3 winners I will try to find another harder question to stump you. Goodness, I could keep taking this further & further afield so I will just say “Let the game begin” and take it from there.
11-3-09
1)What world record did Jesse Owens hold for twenty five years and Bob Beamon for twenty-three?
2)What modeling material is most commonly used to show a mark if a long jumper takes off from in front of the board?
3)What famed sprinter won long jump gold at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics?
4)What is the modern name for what was known as the hop, step, and jump?
5)What modern event is equivalent to a sport in the ancieint Olympics requiring particiants to carry hand weights that they swung to increase momentum?
6)Who was the first long jumper to leap more then twenty-seven feet?
Well I did my work coppying all these questions to tease your brain. Now it is your turn to show Dover’s World how smart you are.
Good Luck! Roberts Mom

That being said, you still got a few wrong. Try again. No where in the rules did I say you only get one chance.
Next Friday I will announce the first winner.
Love,

Dear Friends,
Dale told me it is against the law to use Trivial Pursuit as it is copyrighted!!!
I will finish this week Friday, and then try to come up with my own 6 questions, who knows about what?
Thanks for your continued thoughts, and prayers.
Love,
Robert’s Mom

How about questions whos answers are hidden in the Archives of Dovers World ? Then fans can do the research right here ? It keeps us all tuned in !
Have a great and healthy day !
Marci

Your idea to use the archives sounds like a winner to me. Maybe I can call it Mom’s Trivial Stumpiers. Can you come up with a better name?
I had a few rough days after chemotherapy, but am feeling stronger, better, and more myself today.
It will be interesting hearing how Robert found the state of Dressage in Toronto.
Thanks again Marci for your great suggestion.
Love,
Robert’s Mom

Dear Jean,
This is outside of my box! But I just wanted to say I am glad you are feeling better. Thinking of you,
Love,
Bernie
Jean Dover — November 12, 2009 @ 1:34 pm
Dear Bernie,
Thanks for thinking of me. I have a favor to ask of you Bernie. You know I pray for my friends and family who are ill. When I come to your Mom’s friend I say, “Please God cure Bernie’s Mom’s Friend of her cancer. I think it would be easier on God if he knew exactly who I am referring too. All I need is her first name.
Love,
Robert’s Mom

WEll, Marci,
You won the shirt! Congratulations. Thanks for playing.
Please e-mail me at jd33024@bellsouth.net. Give me your name, first & last, and the address you want the shirt to go too. As soon as Robert comes home next week I will ask him to have it sent to you.
I hope to get another up over this weekend.
Are you at the Royal?
Love, Robert’s Mom
Marci Brown — November 13, 2009 @ 9:11 am
Hi Roberts Mom,
Yippee, I won ! Thanks for creating that !
Yes, we are at the Royal. It is very upbeat and exciting. Next year you will have to come join us !
I hope you are having a good, strong and healthy day.
Much Love,

Bernie Hewitt — November 14, 2009 @ 9:31 am
Dear Robert’s Mom,
Of course, her name is Hazel. I agree that makes it a lot easier on God! Thank you, thank you.
And congratualations to Marci!
Much love
Bernie
Jean Dover — November 14, 2009 @ 1:56 pm
Marci,
I am still waiting for your home address so please sent it to me at: jd33024@bellsouth.net
I asked RD if he had met you but it seems not. Marci next time just walk up & say Hi. Robert would have been pleased to say hello and more.
Did you notice that Berni sent you congratulations? She e-mails me from England and,as a journalist met and wrote about Robert. Not too long ago she decided to change her life. She went back to school to become a Barrister, and more. Berni is a true example proving if you have the talent, and are willing to work for your dream, amazing things will happen.
Love.
Robert’s Mom
Marci Brown — November 15, 2009 @ 9:01 pm
Thanks Bernie for the congrats ! It was fun, I am looking forward to more !
Roberts Mom, I just emailed you ! We were away at the Royal for the past few days, so I was rather slow to reply. We did bring home a Grand Champion and a not to shabby second place winner on my trailer though ! We have some super horses ! I feel very blessed !
Jean Dover — November 16, 2009 @ 6:08 pm
Dear Marci,
Congratulations on having a grand Champion on your trailer. That made it worth the trip. right?
As soon as Robert rests up from his 10 days appraising Canadian horses and riders, I will be sure your shirt goes out. Did you say what size? I don’t think so. There is still time.
I have a new game ready to go when RD is rested. He needs a helper with all he does. (Mother’s Opinion!)
More as Dover’s World turns.
Love
Robert’s Mom
Jean Dover — November 17, 2009 @ 8:13 pm
Dear Marci,
As soon as Robert relaxes, and is rested up I will be sure a small size shirt goes out to you.
Tell me about your family. How many, and what age are your children. Do they ride too?
Thanks for all your prayers.
Lovingly,
Robert’s Mom

I AM TRYING TO INVENT A NEW GAME FOR ALL YOU CLEVER LADIES TO PLAY. DO YOU THINK IF I GAVE YOU SOME OF THE WORDS OF A SONG YOU COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT THE SONG IS? I DON’T NOW THE NEW ONES SO YOU WILL HAVE TO DIG DEEP TO FIGURE IT OUT.
LOVE JEAN

So I am using a different subject that I know soooo much about!
1-What was the first tennis Grand Slam event played on grass at the start of the 21st century?
2-Who in 2001, became the only wild card entry to win the Wimbledon men’s singles title?
3-What is the highest possible possible snooker break in normal play without the advantage of a foul?
4- What is the most common color for basketballs?
5- What game, invented by Canadian Dr. James Naismith in 1891, was played with a football until late 1950s?
6-What country has won the most Olympic basketball titles?
Have a good time. Who is first to win gets a gift. All I have to do is thing what it will be. Have faith.
Love Robert’s Mom
