Dear Mr. Gore
Dear Mr. Gore,
Here’s the thing. I voted for you and have been an avid and strong supporter of most of your beliefs (other than Gay Marriage) and especially those regarding Climate Change. Now, I’m not saying I’m jumping ship or anything, but I still say you’ve got some “splaining to do”, as Ricky Ricardo used to say to Lucy. I mean, really; since when is it supposed to be necessary to wear my long leather ski coat (even though it is fabulous!) for week after week here in Wellington, Florida? And that is over a sweater and shirt!
Listen, we pay our good money to come south for one major reason - to be able to ride, train and show in great weather, and global warming should have been making us complain all season of how hard it is to ride in the sweltering heat. But no; it has been ridiculously cold for months now with just an occasional day here and there to remind us of what we were assured we’d be enjoying all the time but have been rooked out of somehow.
So I’m scheduled to leave tomorrow to fly out to beautiful San Diego where the weather is almost always perfect, but guess what? Highs over the weekend will be no more than 55 degrees and raining! Can you *%^#ing believe it?
So this, Mr. Vice-President, is to put you on formal notice that I am sick and tired of crappy weather and, since it is my right as an American, I figure publicly complaining is about the best I can come up with.
And to my readers living in worse climates who think I’m just a whiney Jew, I don’t want to hear about what ypou are goingthrough. It’s your choice to be in these places where temperatures hover around freezing. I, on the other hand, live in Wellington and Miami Beach, and if it doesn’t change soon, I expect a refund, Mr. Gore.
Cheers!
RD

In my minds eye I see George Theodorescu in his long leather coat, saying “I only take this coat off one week in July to have it cleaned!”
Maybe it’s a master thing, I am sure you look great

OMG You make me laugh…this is too funny…..but seriously….I feel the same here in Mexico….and I am not just being an agnostic princess
… we really do have perfect weather here almost all the time (the world’s 2nd best climate supposedly yada yada yada)……and right now…well…let’s just say although it is not quite as cool as Fla…I am a tad miffed!!!
P.s. But…I still love Al Gore

Many of our Canadian ‘Snowbirds are coming home weeks early this year. I am hearing nothing but groaning about the weather.
That is really too bad considering my winter has been warmer and rieer than normal. Maybe Al sent the weather up here to us crazy socialists??? LOL!

Weather is a local condition, affected by all sorts of things, and naturally variable from year to year. (The record cold temperatures were courtesy of the Arctic oscillation.) Global warming refers to the average temperature conditions on the Earth as a whole, which has been increasing. In fact, global warming predicts greater variation in local weather patterns.

Robert your view and most everyones of global warming is WAY to simplistic. I’m including myself but I do know that it isn’t as simple as were freezing our arse off in FL..

Michelle, are you by chance friends with Justin? The reason I’m asking is that I wrote that post, just as I did about Facebook, as simply a fun joke. That’s why I said that I am still completely behind everything Al Gore stands for. I was merely having a little fun while complaining about the crappy weather which doesn’t seem to want to change anytime soon. So try to lighten up, eh?
Cheers!

Global warming? Aren’t we talking climate change. Best winter in years in the Pacific Northwest!!! But Florida was pretty fantastic during my visit. Keep up the great work with the Canadians!
michelle — February 19, 2010 @ 12:06 pm
Who is Justin?? I figured you were joking around but it is a complicated issue and many will think global warming isn’t a problem because of the crazy weather we are having…
michelle — February 19, 2010 @ 12:15 pm
Sorry!!
michelle — February 19, 2010 @ 12:16 pm
It is to cold in KY for me to lighten up:) ha ha ha Sorry didn’t mean to be to serious.

We may all need to set up base further south. Maybe somewhere in the Virgin Islands.

I can tell you Mr. Dover, that I regret moving from Florida on a daily basis. Not only is the weather ( the last 3 yrs) been more than trying, the way of life is the midwest is extremely ssssssssslllllllllllooooooooowwwwwww. And that was said faster than most of people here. If I could I would take the temps and weather in florida over sitting here in the corn field. Why the hell did I move here? AHHH!!! get the rope.

Hey there is plenty of sun here…and when you all think about coming down to the Pan Am Games here in Guad…..I would be happy to have you stay here. The sun shines almost every day….and when it doesn’t….it is almost a nice change. We are really actually very spoiled here…as for the rain…we cue it in at night. When we have rain in the day we all stand around looking stunned in fact some people almost drown because they stare up at the sky with their mouths open in stunned amazement.
Michelle have you tried yoga???

Maybe our Canadian friends are trying to be good neighbors. We sent them Robert Dover, and they are trying to send us their weather? Thanks for the generosity, but I think beer would have been a little better of a trade. Moosehead trumps snow any day. ;)’ Please note, this is my poor attempt at humor.
