Lexington - Day 1 At A Great Show!

I just have to say that Kentucky Horse Park and Lexington in general is spectacular this week! Spring in in the air and with the flowers and trees all blooming, this is definitely heaven for horse people. And the show grounds, the folks putting on the Test Event, and the excitement in the air are all on a level not one bit less fantastic then Aachen or any venue in the world.

Now on to the Grand Prix, which went from 10am to 5pm today and was won by Tina Konyot with her lovely stallion, Collecto. Tina has brought along this horse in a way that has frankly surprised most every professional in the industry. It is a credit to both the horse’s temperment and, more importantly, the great talent of this rider/ trainer. I know her father would be proud of her.

But just as big a story, I am proud to say, was the strength of the Canadian riders and horses. Many of our athletes had personal bests today, for which I was very pleased, but the fact that Belinda Trussell and Bonny Bonnello ended in 2nd and 3rd place with 70.24 and 68.9% respectively. I have watched such growth in Canada’s riders and am totally stoked about taking my group to Europe in May to do a tour of shows. Not only that but other combinations, both in North America and Europe, will continue to evolve and contend for a place on the World Equestrian Games Team. In other words, all of our rider are putting 100% effort toward the goal of building a medal contending team. And I am extremely proud of them all!

Cheers!

    Way to go coach.
Yes the riders are putting in 100% but you have most certainly put in 150%. Thank you from the riders and Canada.

    Cheers,

I do accept as true with all the ideas you have presented on your post. They are really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very brief for starters. May just you please lengthen them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
