Lexington CDI - Day 2
Both great and sad news is part of Day 2 at the Lexington Test Event CDI. The sad news is that Belinda Trussell had to leave suddenly to be with her son, Mathew, who was admitted into the hospital in Toronto. All of us wish Mathew, 4 years old, a very speedy recovery and our thoughts and prayers go out to him, Belinda and the entire family.
Today was the Grand Prix Special and once again I was very proud of our Canadian riders! A special congratulations goes to Bonny Bonnello who, riding Pikardi, is now the 3rd Canadian rider to achieve scores this season over 70%, having earned 70.292! And that’s not the only thing - she did it with an error at the end of the test when she went onto the short diagonal in extended trot instead of doing the medium down the long-side, costing not only well over a full percentage point but also the win to Mikala Gunderse who received 70.792 riding Leonberg. I doubt very much that we’ll see Miss Bonny getting lost in a test again anywhere.
Tonight is training under the lights for the combinations doing the Freestyle tomorrow evening. Though Anton and Belinda will not be present, we will have 4 Canadian combinations competing and I wish them the very best of luck and will be there all the way to support them!
Cheers!
