Mom’s Corner - It is never too late to learn
Dear Friends of Robert’s Mom,
I thought I knew most everything about well, everything, but today I found out I don’t!
I went to a lovely Lady Podiatrist I had seen 4 years ago. She is too pretty to be dealing with feet, but that she does very well. I have been seeing white fungus under my big toenails, and one started to hurt so I made an appointment and went.. She cleaned to fungus out and I said, aren’t you going to give me a pedicure? She said no, the white is just about the perfect length. When ever I get a pedicure I say cut all the white off. Well my friends the white protects the toe nail from fungus and guards the toe so let it grow an 1/8th of am inch, (my guess). She also said I need a longer narrower shoes then the 8/1/2 medium I am wearing. My Dear Mother would turn over in her grave if she heard that, but I will bite the bullet and venture to Foot Locker, or Sports Authority. They carry widths like narrow which I need instead of heavier socks. She said my toe hurt because it kept hitting the end. My Gosh, I may need a 9!. Please keep this to yourself.
Love,
Robert’s Mom

Thanks for your encouragement Aileen. I am sure Robert gives a great sigh, and thinks gee Mom what next when he reads my postings, but I think, here I am at my age and I never knew about correct toe nail care.
Happy feet make for a happy disposition.

I say get the 9 and run with it. No pun intended. I technically wear an 8.5 but the 9 feels so good, I buy a 10.

Dear Cathy,
Today I went to the Foot Locker as recommended by my Podiatrist. They explained that I have to go to The Ladies Foot Locker in another shopping center to get shoes in Widths. Can you believe that! I definitely need a 9 narrow. I hope tomorrow is THE DAY. Stay tuned in.
Here is to Happy Feet,
Love,

I bought some running shoes a few weeks ago and had to go a half size bigger than normal. I did - And they feel great! Hope your shoe shopping went well!

Look at the Ryka running/walking shoes. They have relatively narrower heel area and wider toe area, perfect for women’s feet. I have one bad toe, from being stepped on one-too-many times, and the Rykas are the only shoes that I can wear all day without a problem, AND didn’t have to go up a half size.

Dear Berni,
I answered your e-mail about your tendonditces last week, but it disappeared into cyberspace. I have no idea why or what I hit. Anyway I hope this e-mail finds you completely healed and back to normal. If you read this please let me know if you received it, or by a miracle both..

This is hilarious! But useful. I love moms. Thanks for being one.
Jean — July 19, 2010 @ 9:49 am
Dear June,
Thanks for loving moms! I am sure your mom was loving and gave you the benefit of her knowledge about almost everything.
It is amazing that after 62 years of being a mom in most cases our children have reversed the order and give us the benefit of their greater knowledge. I don’t mind and am thankful for it…most of the time! Am I making any sense?
Tell me about yourself.
Robert’s Mom, Jean
