What A Difference A Day Makes!
24 little hours later and my good friend, Guenter Seidel is not only looking better, he was up walking twice with his crutches and sitting up to eat his meals! With the spirit of a true Olympian, this man is determined to get back to his normal life in record time, Naturally, he will do so while following the doctor’s orders to the letter, and will only fly home once the lung specialist sees him and determines him fit for air travel - 100%! With his Mom and Sean now here as well as friends coming regularly to visit, I will take my leave in the morning and head back to Brasschaat and my team to train and ride while some of the ladies are away. Guenter is in the very best hands but I was truly gald to see and be with him for a couple of days. As you can see above ( and on your side
), he is making great progress.
Cheers!
RD

How wonderful! We’re so happy that Guenter is doing so well, and we appreciate you, Robert, for keeping everyone up to date. I’m sure Guenter loves your moral support too. If you’re half as funny in person as you are when you write, then I’m sure you’re therapeutic!

Guenter looks like, “If you’re taking a photo of me in my striped boxers, I’m going to suddenly get mobile enough to smack you in the head.” (tee-hee!)

Well, I always wanted to see a famous person in their undershorts!

Way cuter picture of Gman, even tho you have to turn sideways to look at it! And his eyes match the color of his boxers!

What amazing progress! Good friends and family really are the best medicine. Tell Gunther to remember the old cowboy saying… “Scars are just tattoos with better stories.”

perhaps a system could be implemented that would prevent people from participating more than one year in a row. If you run in 2011 then you have to wait until 2013 or 2014 to run again. maybe grandfather the people with active streaks going but for new people one year on one or two off. Perhaps an odd/even year system would work. If you are born on an odd year you could only register for odd year marathons (still would need to qualify according to present rules). Other such ideas could be used.
