America’s Got Talent Top 4 Picks

Usually around this time of the year, I give my top picks for the upcoming championships like the WEG’s at the end of the month in Kentucky.  But since I am the Coach for the Canadian Team, I obviously could not be asked this year to go out on my usual limb and pic this year’s winners and losers.  So, instead I will pick my favourite 4 for the America’s Got Talent Finale.  Here we go!

1)  My absolute winner of the entire shooting match has truly nothing to do with a Las Vegas act. Little 10 year old Jackie Evancho is absolutely a gift from GOD and will become one of the great stars of this era.  She will sing all around the world with the greatest vocal stars of our time and make us all cry from the beauty of her voice, emanating from her soul, which must be inhabited by either a  star who has passed or an actual angel!  Whichever it is, it really doesn’t matter. What does is that this little girl is a gift to our world and much bigger than anything the show could be about.

2)  Fighting Gravity is the next Blue Man Group and is definitely my pick for an act to be great in Las Vegas!  They are amazing, fresh, unique and just plain fun to watch.  While I want Jackie to win the most votes to validate my opinion that she is far and away the greatest talent on the show, I still think that Defying Gravity is the best act for Vegas.

3)  Magician, Michael Grasso, is really terrific and I also believe he could be an excellent head-liner in Vegas.  My gut feeling is that even if he doesn’t win, he is destined to be signed to a contract which will give him exactly that.  We’ll see him centre-stage in Vegas and his career will bring him both fame and fortune.

4)  I love Jeremy Vanschoonhoven and have a strong feeling that he’s also going to find his place among the stars, just in a different venue.  There are amazing shows which feature EXTREME acts and these folks become very famous just as Evil Knievel did for decades.  I feel confident that such a future lies ahead for Jeremy, on and off  TV.

These are my top 4 picks for the finale and in order of how I feel they should place in the end.  I also want to say that there was definitely more talent this year than in years passed but I was sad that a couple of acts were not in the top 10.  What about you?

Cheers!

    1. Jackie Evancho - by far the most talented on the show
    2. Michael Grasso - truly needs a Vegas stage
    3. Prince Poppycock - a showman, unique, talented, over-the-top
    4. Michael Grimm - solid performances, soulful sound.

Well, the show is almost over and so far I’m one for three! Neither Jeremy, the amazing cyclist or Michael, the great magician have made it into the top 4. Only 10 year old, Jackie Avancho has lived up to my expectations of winning a spot. So now I am watching as the decision is being made between the Studio 1 dance crew or
Fighting Gravity. If Fighting Gravity doesn’t —- oh wait, I’m now 2 for 4. Fighting Gravity just got into the finals so I wasn’t completely wrong. And I do like both Prince Poppycock and Micheal Grimm, so I’m still pretty happy with the results.

Now, on to next week’s finals. I am going with Jackie to win and Fighting Gravity to be 2nd. What do you think?

    Cheers!

This has been such a fun show this season…I’m with you Robert….Jackie to win…though I’m completely undecided about 2nd place, they are all so talented….I guess we’ll just have to wait until next week’s performances!

    Cheers!
