This Tuesday evening’s “Dover’s World” will be one show you truly don’t want to miss! Tune into WBZT(AM1230.Clear Channel) in the Palm Beaches and LIVE AROUND THE WORLD from 6:05pm to 8pm EST as we celebrate America’s “National Day of the HORSE!!! My first hour will be devoted to local, national and international news of the horse industry and I will bring you up to date on the outrageous attack by the so-called, “Wellington Equestrian Alliance” against our underway Global Dressage Festival Show Grounds. I encourage you to tune in and call in to 561-844-6167 or toll-free from anywhere to 800-889-0267 and show that we Dressage people WILL band together to have what we have dreamed about and deserve - a World-Class Show Grounds and Series, including all the amenities present at the finest European shows!
My 2nd hour is going to be AMAZING! My ”Special Guests” could not be more appropriate for this, The National Day of the HORSE !  The famed protagonist and activist, “Wild Horse Annie ( aka, Velma Johnston) was responsible for, 40 years ago this December 15th, the act in congress called ”The Free Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act”.  And today, the stories of three fearless women, Laura Laigh, Ginger Kathrens, and Karen Sussman are  heartwrenching and at the same time incredibly uplifting and we will tell them together from 7:05pm to 8om EST.Â
In her own words, ” Laura” said it best , ” I came into this issue with the mindset that the “truth” of a story can only be revealed if it is “lived”. So I set off and literally immersed myself in the issue and discovered that Wild Horses and Burros have an act of Congress devoted to their protection, but the U.S. government programs look much more like pest extermination. During the 2009 Calico roundup, I found a foal that had just been rounded up. His hooves were separating from his body 9literally falling off) from running for far too long in front of a helicopter. I asked to adopt and care for him and was later told he had been euthanized. I named him “Hope Springs Eternal”, and in my heart I still have “Hope”. This is who I am and why I do what I do……”   Laura Lieghis an award winning illustrator, journalist/ photojournalist with many TV and magazine credits and is leading the fight to save our wild horses, in and out of the courts. I urge you to tune in and call in tomorrow evening at the numbers supplied above and show your support for these 3 great women and their fantastic work on behalf of our beloved HORSES!
Cheers!

Horses deserve the best consideration they can be given. We are their stewards and we need to stand up to the job. At the very least, they deserve our prayers. I am so thankful for having had horses in my life, in my art, and in my dreams. Without them this world would be less a place. I support and admire any effort to protect horses from undue harm. Leave the butchery to the insects!!!

Sometimes this is the hardest part of being an animal lover. We must make decision based on what is best for the equines and I applaud anyone who takes it to the level of living it. Thanks to these women who go to these lengths to help them.

I admire your strength, emotional and physical. The more you care, the more it hurts, to see the things that you have witnessed. The abuse has to be exposed, for a change to be made. Sending light, love and positive healing thoughts.

Robert, I lost audio on the show this evening, however, what I did hear was the question who is high enough to contact to stop this round up. I know that not many people really know about the roundups and how horrible the y are. If you look at what animal shelters do they show the worst looking animals that have been abused. When Dolphins were endangered they showed how they were drowned in nets, or he seals how the babies were clubbed in the head and skinned alive for their coats. Wen need to flood the market with footage of the same atrocities to the horses and put the footage on commercials that run on every major channel. That alone will bring world wide awareness of the wrong doing the BLM and others are doing expecially during these roundups. Jar and I want to unite all horseman to stand together and make a place for these animals. Also we need a governement protection act that will insure our American Treasure- The Mustangs and their lands and right to roam and graze. Much like out National Parks have to preserve this forever.

I woild like to express my gratitude to “Dover’s World” for devoting time to bring awareness to the plight of our “National Icons”Our Symbols of Freedom”! It will take all of us to save the last of these valiant horses who gave their all so valiant, in order to settle this Continent! There is only ONE “Wild Horse Annie” and she is a hard act to follow; her courage to stand up for what she believed in and her will to find protection for her beloved Mustangs, is truly inspiring. We are very fortunate to have Karen and Ginger carying Annie’s torch….the flame is still burning! Thank You Mr Dover for the opportunity, to spread the word!

Sari! & Robert,
I totally Agree ! Is there any Way—to get this done ?
{ie. “We need to *flood the market* with footage of the same Atrocities to the Horses…put *footage on commercials that run on every major channel*…will bring world-wide Awareness of wrong doing BLM and others are doing” }
Well, I Know that HSUS does have some ~legitimate business/support concerns vs. BLM; & we need to respect that (without even the PZP-choice, Our Mustangs would have 000 chance @all!)
Yet, modeling such “public service commercials” after theirs & ASPCA’s is Perfect idea!
Those ads still make me CRY..each time!–even IF I rush to turn the channel, just the begin Music is enough 4 me!
–the Horses have plenty of Pro-film makers on their side, to Make even More heart-tuggers, for sure! !
But HOW to get them AIRED ???
—I also lost audio 4 lg parts of show; I wonder if there’s a transcript…somewhere?
