USA Marches Forward!
So here’s the thing. The U.S. Team is steadily marching forward toward our goal of producing the finest training and competitive programs in the world. What I love is everyone’s resolve; from the officers of the Federation and the USET Foundation, our fundraising arm, to staff, coaches, the newly founded ” Dressage Owners Task Force”, breeders, trainers, riders, and the American Dressage community at large! I know that was a run on sentence, but I had to bring home just how committed we all are to bringing home the medals at every division from kids on ponies to the elite Grand Prix division and everything in between.
The hardest thing is that so much of what is needed to succeed revolves around the almighty dollar, or Euro as the case may be. The bar is so high now on the quality of what is deemed a “top, world-class horse and the cost of these horses so prohibitive, it is becoming close to impossible to find such animals no less be able to afford them. What is the answer? Recently, some American breeders have told me they are the answer to producing medal-winning horses for our riders and I would love it of this were true! So, I have put it out there that anyone in America who has raised or bought a young horse with the looks, expression, gaits, and intelligence to become another Valegro, please immediately send me a video to Robert@DoversWorld.com and if I love what I see I promise to help ensure it finds its way to a great and deserving American rider. Still, we know that sustained excellence can only be possible through producing new stars, both 2 and 4-legged, every year in greater and greater numbers. We cannot rely upon last minute purchases of older horses for our Team riders as only horses receiving 75 to 85% can have a true impact on our position within the world. We have wonderfully talented riders and trainers and our ultimate goal must be to ensure they are all mounted with the very best horses of the world, at every age and level.
GO TEAM USA!!!!
