Live TV For Vegas! Hooray!!!

Just back from the 1st leg of my once a month trips on my “Cher” Farewell Tour, I am delighted to say that the Californians still “got it goin on!” I saw some excellent riders on truly knock-out horses, and I’ll fill you in further about them in my next post.

I also am really psyched to report that the World Cup WILL be televised live on NBC Universal, an affiliate of NBC. The main events in Show Jumping as well as Dressage will be aired and I will be on hand doing the play-by-play commentary, so you can be assured of a no-holes-barred program. The World Cup is always an amazingly exciting competition, but in “Sin City” it takes on a whole new dimension. The glitz and glamour of show business brings the entire event to a level you just can’t find anywhere else on earth.
So if you’ve been on the fence about going, climb off and meet me in Vegas! Oh, and by the way, if you do intend to go, don’t forget to set your Tivo’s and DVR’s to tape the shows. We need to tell the networks that we horse lovers will support all equestrian related programming if we are to gain a “soft spot in their hearts”.

Hope to see you in Vegas!

Cheers!
RD

Jenna Wyatt

The following is a sponsored post. For information on advertising on Dover’s World, please contact us.

Jenna WyattJenna Wyatt is a multi-talented young lady. She not only rides and trains Dressage and keeps a barn full of nice horses and clients, she also has an amazing voice and has written and recorded her own songs. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Jenna stays true to her country roots and has both the chops and the looks to be another Faith Hill or Shanaya Twain.

I hope everyone will get to know Jenna better and discover her talents for themselves!

Continue reading for Jenna’s full bio and gallery.

Jenna grew up riding horses. Her parents had horses before she was born, her mother riding while she was in the womb. Pleasure riding turned into showing AQHA horses by age seven. At nine, Jenna started competing Hunters on the southeast circuit. That quickly led to showing Jumpers, which resulted in Jennaʼs Eventing Career. Jenna evented through the Preliminary level. While training as an event rider, Jennaʼs eyes were opened to the sport of Dressage.

In 1999 Jenna began training with Robert Dover. While under Robert’s tutelage she trained and competed from training level to Grand Prix. She rode many horses under Robert, including the talented Nairobi currently competing at the Grand Prix level. Jenna trained with Robert extensively from 1999 - 2004. “I have learned so much from Robert over the past 10 years. Just being around Robert is inspiring. Not only is he an amazing trainer and coach, he’s demanding and instill incredible high standards in everyone that he works with. He has this special way of getting to the heart of what makes a horse and rider click.”

Jenna Wyatt operates a full time training facility in Point Clear, Al and Wellington, FL. Her hard work, talent and dedication to the sport of Dressage has enabled her to train and compete two extremely talented and special horses at the Grand Prix level. Rising to through the ranks of international dressage is demanding and costly. We are seeking sponsors of all types… private, corporate, product endorsements etc. to help fund this international star on the rise.

Clinic Wednesdays

My retirement has really gone well, for the most part.  Robert and I got a beautiful condo down in South Miami Beach, overlooking the ocean and we spend our weekends enjoying going to Lincoln Road with all its great shops and restaurants and everything else that is so fun down there. Great beaches, beautiful people (and by that I mean LOTS OF HOT GUYS!), and waking up to looking out at the gorgeous Atlantic.

I still have my 2 “hobby horses” which I haven’t been able to ride since my back surgery 2 months ago, so I started helping my ex-student, Suzanne Lapporte, with her 2 horses in return for having lessons with me on mine. Then Tuny, the owner of the stables, asked if I would just help her a bit with her Grand Prix horse, Wild One, and I said sure. I mean, I was there anyway, right? And while sitting there I was seeing another friend, Liz, having a lot of problems with her stallion, which just kept “getting to me” until I finally said, “Why don’t you try such and such”, and then I ended up helping Liz too.

So finally Robert said, “you know that when your ‘real students’ get down here and hear you are teaching and they are not welcome, they are going to be hurt.” Which brings me to “Clinic Wednesdays”. I decided to tell all my friends that I would do one day of teaching per week and they could text me on each Tuesday and let me know if they wanted a slot.

So yesterday I taught my friends from 9am to 3pm and was truly exhausted afterward. That was the first time I had taught like that since last spring, but I did love seeing my friends and their horses.

And so now I will do ONE DAY per week of lessons for my friends. ONLY ONE DAY! You hear me, Robert Dover? ONLY ONE DAY!!!!!
