Farewell Tour
Since my retirement from Romance Farm Inc., my training business, I have often been asked if I would continue teaching at all, beside my intended on-line instruction. I have decided to do a World Symposium Tour starting in 2009 and have already been requested to travel to several places in Europe, South America, and the United States.
So what is a Robert Dover Symposium?
I am generally asked by Dressage Organizations or National Federations to do two days with 10 rider/ horse combinations and between 200-700 auditors. I try to have the horses cover each level from very green through Grand Prix in order to describe and discuss the training scale and deal with all aspects of Dressage. I actually begin each symposium with a one hour lecture for all riders and auditors on the Basic Principals of Dressage in order to be sure we are all on the same page as we move into the training time.
I make it my greatest priority to ensure that everyone goes home from my symposia feeling at the very least that they were highly entertained, but to be honest, it is my wish that they truly feel they’ve had a life-changing experience. From the beginning to the end I make the two days highly interactive so that all attending remain extremely involved.
Anyone interested in reading a recent review of the New England Dressage Association Spring Symposium which I conducted may go to Dressage Today.com to look it up.
My fees for two days are $300 per rider per day. (Max 10 riders per day-one at each level)
$50 per auditor per day (min 100 auditors per day)
Business-class airfare and hotel expenses.
* Most organizers charge $75 per auditor per day which more than makes up for the cost of putting on the clinic and usually leaves them with a nice profit.
